While our previous entry suggested that tomorrow night at Easter Road could change everything, it really is the biggest test for new coach Danny Rohl.

Statement

If Rangers can travel to Easter Road, regardless of events at Parkhead or indeed Tynecastle, and register three points, it is a big, big statement.

The Leith side have been a Rangers rival since the Championship days. They frequently put up a tougher fight than many.

And if Rohl gets the three points it’s a big coup. Hibs will be hugely up for this one, and are more or less in the same position league wise as Rangers.

However, failure to get the win would pour cold water over a lot of things for Rangers under Rohl.

Mentality

Defender Derek Cornelius claims the mentality at Ibrox has shifted. That players are working harder for the ball and each other. Well, anything other than 3 points in Edinburgh would prove that as little more than lip service.

Hibs will be fired right up, especially given who their coach is these days. And Rangers have to be fired up too.

Rangers need to fight for everything, and not be bullied.

Because if Rangers cannot win at Hibs when Celtic are in complete meltdown? Then we can’t see them winning against Celtic themselves either.

Points

It would also be yet another points dropped and at this point, having finally won a match at Ibrox, we need to keep doing it.

Is everything on the line? Kind of, yes. The league is (probably) gone (to Hearts) but Rangers can still get a credible run in the campaign. But if this new coach can’t get a tune out of his team at Hibs then he’s just yet another fail and this squad remains wretched.

Let’s hope it’s a massive win at Leith for the visitors.
