Ibrox Noise was amused to note recently that another, significantly large, but not particularly respected, Rangers site was in full on attack mode towards… well….us. Rangers troll attack on Ibrox Noise was unwelcome.

The attacks

First, they discredited our content, suggesting we are nothing more than clickbait. Secondly, they reckoned that we are run by tims. And thirdly, they smeared us for the content of another site. We really liked that one.

This site shall remain nameless. But let’s just say they are extremely well known in the Rangers community as the biggest troll site online, filled with Celtic fans supplying their information, and filled with trolls who outright lie.

Honest content

We found it amusing that they would choose to take a dig at us, at a legitimate Rangers site, who offers honest content at all times. Of course we get things wrong, no one gets it all right.

But this wonderful site, who decided the best way to use their day was to attack another Rangers site, was, shall we say, amusing to us.

Fake news confusion

We do love it, when Ibrox News, this is not the site in question by the way, gets confused for us, Ibrox Noise. We have constantly dealt with so many digs in recent years as a result of the fake content that Ibrox News have put out, and we get the attacks based on it.

The recent one that we had to be amused by, of course, was the fake Ally McCoist account. Ibrox News ran a full article on Ally’s comment, not realising that it wasn’t Ally’s comment, and that the account is a parody fake. That article’s still up we believe. But of course Ibrox Noise got the attack based on it, naturally.

The usual accusations

Then there’s that accusation that we’re run by tims. Well we can assure you that is absolutely not true. We wouldn’t put it past quite a lot of these sites to be run by tims to be fair, but we are not one of them.

And lastly, the idea that we’re clickbait. Well, there is a partial truth in that. Any non-naive internet user will know that advertising revenue pays the bills. So yes, we do at times require a little bit of traffic to keep the lights on. Sorry about that.

The difference

So we’re very sorry if occasionally a headline or two makes you click the article. But we’re not actual clickbait, as I’m sure you’re aware, because we actually do have content.

That’s the big difference. Clickbait would be a headline that flagrantly lies about the content that’s inside it. We see much of that all over the place. But we’re not like that.

So, go on, unnamed Rangers troll site, take your best shot at digging at legitimate Rangers sites and confusing them with others while you’re at it. Rangers troll attack on Ibrox Noise? Que sera.

You do you, we’ll do us.
