We’ve never seen a Rangers manager more unpopular than Russell Martin, and never seen one rejected this fast.

The former Ibrox player was abysmal in his playing days in Govan to say the least. He couldn’t handle the pressure of the shirt under Mark Warburton way back when.

Manager

So what made him think he could handle the suit (that he doesn’t wear) as sole manager of the whole enterprise?

Arrogance, that’s what, a self-delusional arrogance. He blames everything else but himself and believes he’s the right man for the job.

And Rangers fans, even most of the give him time crew, have deserted him. An Ibrox Noise poll saw his approval at a stinking 9%.

91% voted him gone.

We’re sure Russell Martin is a very nice bloke, probably, but he’s so excruciatingly out of his depth at Rangers it’s not even funny.

We don’t know what waffle he spouted in the interview but it pulled the wool over the eyes of recruitment alright.

Opposed

Russell Martin is the first time in history we at Ibrox Noise have opposed a manager from the off.

We have taken a tonne of abuse, from ‘you’re tims’, to ‘support the team and manager ffs’ to the old ‘give him time ffs’. And a lot of stuff a lot less friendly.

Sadly, now, the whole support finally sees what we’ve been dreading. Another wasted season thanks to an incompetent regime that cheaped out on a bad managerial choice.

‘Give him time’ didn’t work at Premier League Southampton. He broke all records with a 6% win rate in England’s top flight with Southampton, winning just one of 16 matches.

And some fans believe he should be given further time? Unpopular Rangers manager Russell Martin.

Not too many now, mind.

We wonder if any of the abusers who have now changed their mind will apologise for their language towards us?

Probably not!
