With Hamza Igamane’s Rangers exit now muddied considerably, it’s abundantly clear the Moroccan won’t be leaving Rangers any time soon, and in fact figured heavily in Rangers’ pre-season training ahead of the Champions League qualifier v Panathinaikos.

Cutting a happy figure, the 22-year old looked far from depressed as he bantered with players and the manager and didn’t look like someone eager to leave any time soon.

Various sources have contradicted each other and themselves, and formerly-credible Moroccan-based journalist Kora Maroc, who claimed an exclusive weeks ago regarding Hamza and a £20M move to Lille, has somewhat backtracked.

The transfer report alleged it was all done and dusted, but now has shifted the posts to suggest the clubs are haggling over a fee, and he has further claimed a glut of sides are now interested. Hamza Igamane’s Rangers exit is now less certain.

Moreover, he alleges Rangers want £20M, meaning his original report was untrue, and the £15M bid Lille made wasn’t enough.

Ibrox Noise has reported from the start that Rangers want £17M (€20M) for the ex-FAR RABAT man, and no one as yet has plumped up that cash for a player who wasn’t actually that outstanding last season.

Clubs are wary of giving that level of fee for a lad who is largely untested and hasn’t even been a mainstay in Rangers team as it is.

That said, Wolves happily shelled out £35M for Fabio Silva who had barely played for Porto’s senior team, so it does happen.

Either way, he’s potentially involved v Panathinaikos and there’s no sign of an exit yet.
