These were all eight of Rangers senior international call ups which is a far better sign of progress.

Ibrox noise has always contended the quality of your squad can be measured by the number of international call ups and Rangers having 8 is a good sign.

Indeed, it should’ve been more given the surprising absence of Dessers from Nigeria’s camp, but the fact that despite Rangers lowly league position and distance behind Celtic, we are now getting many more call ups these days.

Is there a trophy for that? No of course not but it is a far better sign of squad quality and potential when your players’ stock and value is rising on an international platform?

Dessers really should’ve been there too and some might even have made a case for Leon Balogun as well, not to mention Connor Barron.

It is definitely an improvement and long may it continue.
