If there’s a player we rarely speak about on Ibrox Noise, it’s relatively new Rangers signing Nedim Bajrami of Albania.

We straw polled the readers on our channels and found the verdict of his impact since arriving to be mixed at best and a bit negative at worst – in short, fans were far from convinced that he’s been a good use of £3M Ibrox pounds as of yet.

There’s a big, big caveat – Nedim Bajrami has rarely-to-never been used in his preferred 10 slot, only occupying it a single time under Philippe Clement, with the Belgian boss allocating him on the left wing in Govan instead, which he does have experience in.

This was to accommodate Tom Lawrence in the 10 (ineffective aside his goals) and now that Rangers’ side has reverted to a 4-4-2 Bajrami has been benched in favour of the returning Ianis Hagi, himself also playing out of position on that flank.

This has made judging the ex-Sassuolo star very hard – we are simply not seeing the best of him wide on the side. He has 4 goals and assists in 18 Rangers appearances which isn’t that impressive, but then that’s only fractionally below his career numbers in general – 95 goals and assists in 342 appearances at all levels.

Fans aren’t blown away by him – he does seem to lack a bit of pace (like Hagi) but doesn’t seem to quite have the grafting that the Romanian is known for. Hagi is also scoring and creating at the moment, which puts him ahead. He is, however, ineligible for Europe so Bajrami is likely to start v Spurs.

Nevertheless, we do think the Albanian has more to him, but he might now find opportunities to prove that at Ibrox a bit wanting given the formation doesn’t favour his best position.

We hope there is more to come from Nedim, but it’s been a rather inauspicious start.
