Onto more (depressing) footballing matters at Rangers and the medics and fans are holding collective breath over rising star Neraysho Kasanwirjo who had to be hauled off on international duty after a suspected ACL with Holland.
The young defender, who has shone impressively on his cameos so far for Rangers, was up against England U21s as a sub when he felt something go and crumpled to the floor around 80 minutes with no one near him.
These are always the worst, when a player goes down of their own accord and not from a challenge – because when a sports person’s body breaks down alone, that can be a bad one.
And this may well be a nasty one, a potential season-ender if it is indeed an ACLI.
Kasanwirjo had literally just started to become a Rangers regular, having had a slow cautious start to life in Govan on loan from Dutch giant Feyenoord.
If the Dutchman impresses, Rangers may well take up the option to buy, which was included in this loan because he is surplus at the De Kuip.
But this would be typical Rangers luck if the boy is now out for the season amid yet another injury shocker for Rangers.
Would be hard to blame Rangers’ medical team for this one, this was sustained with his country and had nothing to do with us, but as one fan suggested, it’s as if someone has voodoo dolls of Rangers players and is just breaking them for fun.
Is Kasanwirjo out for the season?
That would be our luck.
