Rangers could be set to miss out on any possibility of signing Scottish football’s hottest property after sources told Ibrox Noise Motherwell have slapped a £7M price tag on Lennon Miller.

The talismanic midfielder is arguably the Premiership’s most coveted player right now, lighting up Fir Park with some excellent displays, and at just 18 he’s clearly got very much his best years ahead of him with Rangers and Celtic keeping strong tabs on his availability.

Reports in the press allege The Steelmen want £4M for Miller, but unfortunately he won’t be anywhere near as cheap as that, and will cost far closer to the £7M price sources have informed Ibrox Noise of – this will likely be including clauses and addons.

Miller is one of the brightest prospects the SPL has produced in many years, and his displays this season have very much not gone unnoticed – 7 goals and assists in 18 appearances for a midtable Motherwell side at his age is literally exceptional, and Rangers would very much benefit from his services.

But of course as with all Scottish-based players, Rangers will not be interested in signing Miller at a premium, and will prefer to scout in the Colombian z-Division instead to find an ‘untapped’ gem who has barely left his bedroom never mind his country.

The cost isn’t even strictly the problem, albeit Rangers have no money – the club is happy to waste £16M in the summer on more or less an unequivocal pile of garbage but won’t spend good money on a proven talent.

This is the way Rangers are ‘run’ these days, thanks to the woeful scouting and football philosophies of the club.

We’d sooner see pigs fly than Rangers sign someone actually good for any money.
