Rangers fans have been left stranded in Nice after the club sent emails to a number of travelling supporters telling them their briefs had been cancelled, with absolutely no reason given at all. Of sorts.

The Famous travel to France to face the Ligue outfit this evening, and Rangers’ travelling contingent is an ever-present and reliable presence on all of the Ibrox side’s trips overseas in the Europa League, but it’s set to be reduced (of sorts) after a bungle by Nice’s logistics and ticketing meant that some briefs were accidentally located in the home section of the Allianz Riviera.

These tickets have now been cancelled and the fans who travelled to France unfortunately cannot get into the match at all, albeit they will of course be refunded the price.

It’s a real mess up by the clerks at OGC who said:

“We would like to inform you that due to circumstances beyond the club’s control, and taking into account various factors including your position within the stadium, OGC Nice is forced to cancel your reservation for Thursday evening’s match. Your ticket will be automatically refunded in full as soon as possible. We understand your disappointment and apologise for this inconvenience. We would like to stress that access to the match will unfortunately not be possible with the cancelled ticket, and that OGC Nice cannot be held responsible in this respect. Thank you for your understanding.”

So they take no responsibility for this administrative cock up, and blame ‘unknown’ factors without saying what they might be.

This should still mean Rangers fans allocated the away section will be absolutely fine, but those given the home section shouldn’t have been, and now the club has realised its bungle and cancelled those briefs, while shifting blame elsewhere claiming it’s not their fault.

Pretty sure the home side organises the ticketing with the away team and makes the briefs available after organising the seats available for the traveling fans.

Not Nice, they are blaming someone else.

Not very Nice of them.
