Clement confirms major player return for Rangers
Rangers manager Philippe Clement confirms injury return.

Rangers host Olympique Lyonnais tomorrow night on Match Day Two of the Europa League, fresh off the back of an excellent win in Malmo on the opening fixture, and Philippe Clement has made a small announcement.

Rangers have a few injuries at the moment, with Rabbi Matondo out, Danilo out, and Ridvan Yilmaz sadly confirmed as not available for this one, it coming just a bit too quick.

But the manager has confirmed Mohamed Diomande returns, and will bolster midfield having missed Hibs.

The Ivorian delivered maybe his best performance in the shirt in Sweden, with the step up to Europa League level proving him to be much more in his element – as yet we’re unsure he’s fitting into the Scottish Premiership and its style.

But against European opponents, he’s been doing better lately, with an impressive performance in Malmo.

But Lyon is a different animal entirely, as Ibrox Noise’s Derek details, and Rangers will need their best players at their best to get a result, even with it being at home.

Diomande, with his hefty £4.5M price tag, hasn’t really lived up to it yet, and he will be hoping that if he’s selected in Govan tomorrow night, that he delivers more like what he did on match day one.

That Dio is a tower of strength for Rangers, but hasn’t been there often enough for fans’ liking, and it would be fair to say most Rangers fans don’t include Dio among Rangers’ best XI selections.

The Ivorian needs to prove that more and more misguided with increased good performances from now on.

But at least he’s available to give Philippe Clement options on Thursday.
