We have to laugh at some of the Scottish press, with Clyde’s Hugh Keevins, a regular among the clickbait press, offering his latest wisdom on Rangers’ season and prospects.
Now, remember, this is the same raging tim who said only one month ago that Rangers were worse off now than summer 2012, so Keevins clearly loves to make a controversial comment of two.
While Ibrox Noise has also suggested Rangers are going towards 2015 territory, many of our readers firmly agreed with that, but naturally a brilliant win in Sweden makes everyone feel better and probably change their minds over 90 minutes!
But Keevins is just as bad, and following that rousing victory in Malmo the punter, having four weeks ago said we were as good as going bust and we were worse off now than 12 years ago, has now changed tact somewhat…
His latest:
“I think last night showed that Rangers are still title contenders. They still have a five-point gap to catch up to Celtic and Aberdeen, but there are signs there and there were so many players missing last night and Clement compensated for all of that.”
So from ‘being liquidated’ as he said a month ago to winning the title.
It’s quite the shift, isn’t it.
Keevins, like so many others in the Scottish press, says things for a headline, for a reaction – we have no idea who he actually supports, if anyone, but he is well known for provocative comments which completely contradict each other – one minute Rangers are ‘deid’, the next we’re going for 56.
He’s also said absurd things about Celtic too so we’re not going to claim a monopoly on his ridiculous soundbites.
Ah, the press…
