On top of Danilo’s earlier reported injury, Rangers suddenly find themselves in a bit of a pickle, because another omission from the Europa League squad would suggest that the knocks are rather returning.

Rabbi Matondo, whose predicted exit this summer failed to materialise after the main suitor Blackburn Rovers cooled their interest, is now said to be out for the rest of 2024 after being ruled out for up to three months – he has been left out of the European squad too.

The winger, who has simply never shone for Rangers aside one 90 minutes against bottom-feeding Ross County, has been a monumental fail at Ibrox, despite having clear talent, and it had been viewed that he would exit in the summer having been told he was free to find a new club.

As it is, Rangers still have him on the payroll, another player who keeps on getting injured, with the Wales international suffering a hamstring injury v Celtic which has laid him out for up to 12 weeks if not more.

This has led to him making just 65 appearances in over two years, which is literally abysmal and Kemar Roofe level.

He is now set to miss a whole glut of matches until January, which can only mean Rangers’ long-lasting injury curse remains.

Yet another bad Rangers signing.
