With Todd Cantwell’s sale to Trabzonspor looking fairly imminent, Ibrox Noise brings you a ‘who’s being told’ summary of all the players currently on Rangers’ payroll that the board and Philippe Clement seek to remove from it.

Todd Cantwell:

He’s leaving, he asked to, and he and Philippe Clement don’t see eye-to-eye. As we reported earlier, the switch to the usual Turkish cracks Trabzonspor looks a goer, so we’ll see if it’s announced any time soon.

Ianis Hagi:

He also asked to leave, a very long time ago – hasn’t been interested in the club since Michael Beale dumped him out on loan, unfortunately his ego is bigger than his ability. Lacks pace and Alaves sussed very swiftly that he wasn’t cut out for LaLiga so dropped him. As soon as a purchaser is secured, with Fiorentina said to be in the mix, he’ll be off.

Jose Cifuentes:

His move to Greece went very quiet due to red tape shenanigans, but reports today claim Cifu has arrived in the Mediterranean to join Aris Thessaloniki on loan, with the obligation to buy next summer being at £4.5M. We reported this some time ago, but there were issues with Cruzeiro cancelling their loan. Now it’s set to materialise.

Adam Devine:

He’s been told to find another club, so once a decent bid arrives, Rangers will sell.

Alex Lowry:

Same as Devine, in a nutshell.

Leon King:

We understand Rangers are listening to offers here too. Boy, like Devine, didn’t come close to making the grade here, and he’s surplus.

Special Mentions:

It appears the ‘certain’ exits of Cyriel Dessers and James Tavernier came to nothing and both players will be integral parts of the first team this season. Both had looked very strong bets to make their way out, but both players said the same thing – ‘very happy here, but who knows?’

There’s also Tom Lawrence, Kieran Dowell and Ben Davies – all were told they could find new clubs, but guess what – wages of two of them put almost everyone off, and the modest bids they did attract were nowhere near what Rangers want for them. Unless that changes all three will remain.

In fairness right now Lawrence is Rangers’ only actual playmaker, aside Dowell…

And that appears to be about that.
