James Tavernier’s position at Rangers has been a hot topic for some time, with many believing his time has run out at the club, while others believe he ‘still has it’.
So Ibrox Noise decided to ‘go to the polls’ for this one, to get the raw data among our readers and find out what the general consensus was; stay or go.
And we definitely got numbers, around 2500 votes one way or another, a decent representation of Rangers supporters.
The result was mixed. Of the 2500 votes, 44% (1022) believed he should stay, while 64% reckoned his time is up.
Tavernier has cut a bit of a disinterested figure of late, and despite Ibrox Noise actually defending his season thus far, there has to be a point where the relationship ends.
This is not a hate article, nor are those who wish his departure ‘haters’ – it’s just a general sense of the lion’s share of supporters who think it’s time for a changing of the guard.
That has happened to an extent this summer with the exit of Connor Goldson, and Tavernier has long been bracketed alongside the-now Aris Limassol defender.
There is nothing wrong with wanting more changes, and Tavernier has served his time for sure.
And been rather well-paid for the privilege – he gets £37,000pw.
Maybe it really is high time he moved on?
