It has been confirmed by multiple outlets and multiple Ibrox Noise sources have backed it up, that as reported by ourselves going back some months, Adam Devine has been told he can leave Rangers, while Alex Lowry is also to move on this summer as well.
The Auchenhowie duo just haven’t shone in the way they needed to, Devine especially falling massively short of the level needed for a senior Rangers player and failing to sparkle on any of his loans either. Motherwell were not interested in retaining his services even at the low cost.
If a bid does arrive for the right back, Rangers will gladly move him on. He is completely surplus.
Alex Lowry’s situation is slightly more complicated – he is up to the level Rangers need in his position, but his attitude, unfortunately, is poor, and he lacks discipline and professionalism.
Rangers have tried to get the boy to ‘grow up’ for several seasons but unfortunately it’s fallen short and despite his having the tools to shine, the pressures of Rangers clearly got too much for him and he’s now considered expendable.
Rangers have only got so much patience when it comes to ‘bad eggs’ (not that Lowry necessarily is) and won’t waste time with anyone who isn’t towing the line and ‘doing what they’re told’.
The same issue surfaced a bit with Todd Cantwell, he and Clement at loggerheads from the start due to immaturity (on all sides, in fairness) and one of them was always going to ‘come out on top’.
And as it is, Devine and Lowry join Ianis Hagi and Todd Cantwell as imminent departures to add to the increasing list of them this summer.
Then again, it depends on getting a buyer….
