Only 54% of Rangers fans polled expect UCL victory in Poland
Rangers enter the Champions League qualifiers once again....

Rangers face Dynamo Kyiv tonight in a match which Ibrox supporters have a tonne less faith about than we can ever recently remember going into any match at this kind of level.

Thanks to an incredibly poor preseason and the fact we’ve not managed a single win in any competition since beating Dundee in May, fan hopes aren’t terribly high.

Ibrox Noise polled the supporters to gauge predictions against the Ukrainian giants tonight, and it was less than inspired.

Just 54% of around 2,000 fans asked believed Rangers will win, which must be among the lowest victory projections we can recall for some time, while 56% believed either Dynamo would win (26%) or it would be a draw.

This time last year against Servette the belief levels were a little higher, following Michael Beale splashing out over £20M and a reasonably acceptable preseason of two losses, two draws and two wins.

And the club did indeed prevail v the Swiss outfit.

But the belief levels v Kyiv are horrendous, and reflect how Rangers supporters feel about the club and its chances this season, not just against the Champions League hopefuls.

Usually with these polls a lot of the results are often what Rangers punters ‘want’ to see happen, and not just their beliefs of what will happen – but this one seems a lot more pessimistic with such a low level of victory predictions.

All we can do is hope our manager picks a half decent side that gives us a chance, otherwise it’ll be a long night yet again.
