So it’s the morning after yet another Rangers debacle, after a couple of recent matches had promised a touch of improvement from this ramshackle Ibrox regime.
Let’s face it, we’re right back into Beale territory, Philippe Clement’s backers are now holding onto ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ whereas 4 months ago it was ‘judge him on his own players ffs’.
As Ibrox Noise observed, those who defend the manager will just keep finding new lines to trot out and justify him, even though Philippe Clement hasn’t done a single thing to earn a single fan’s trust in 10 months.
The League Cup was without facing Celtic, and that’s his only moment of glory, otherwise he’s been an epic fail. A miserable epic fail who has been increasingly erratic the past 6 months.
Can’t beat Celtic, keeps picking wrong teams, and now he’s blaming the referee.
Sure, it was a harsh yellow, but his own bad call of leaving Jefte on cost the club the tie.
Dynamo Kyiv weren’t great, they were distinctly average – and in fairness the first half wasn’t bad from Rangers. It wasn’t the suicidal high line we saw v Benfica. He had at least learned from that.
Instead he found a new way to wreck it – leaving on a player who was on several fouls and a booking, and deeply vulnerable to a second yellow.
Clement is rightly under serious scrutiny – he’s signed 11 players since January and Rangers are now worse than they were under Michael Beale.
MICHAEL BEALE!!!
He could at least get past the third round of the UCL qualifiers, and he beat Celtic, even if it didn’t matter – and none of us would take him back.
In Clement’s defence however, we do like Pröpper, Cerny and Barron. But that’s it.
None of the rest of his 11 signings have impressed us, aside Cortes briefly before yet more mismanagement cost us his services last season.
We also like Liam Kelly but can’t see him playing a big role at this club.
In general, Jefte, Nsiala, Igamane, Dio, Silva and McCausland (he’s 100% a Clement player/signing now) are among those to be underwhelming or unknown at this point.
There is no denying Rangers are weaker now than we were even last season.
One win since May 14th.
That’s hideous.
He literally makes things up, the press asked him last night what does this defeat do to the transfer window, Clement replied i told u yesterday if we fail it will take longer now to get the players needed to fix the squad, but he didnt say tht he said it would make no difference if we get through last nights round or not.
