Following some objections and unhappy replies to Ibrox Noise suggesting Rangers should sign lucrative free agent Scott McKenna, the site decided to poll the fans en-masse to check the wider view, and the numbers were very interesting.

McKenna, of course, is looking for his next club after he and Nottingham Forest parted company, and the Scotland international has many Premier League appearances as well as a couple of Champions League ones too.

He also knows the Scottish Premiership well, even if he is a (former) Celtic fan.

And readers of Ibrox Noise have given their view on whether they’d like Rangers to sign the ex-Aberdeen man.

The answer was overwhelming.

81% of around 1,000 votes (not the biggest sample we’ve ever had in fairness) were a definitive yes, and just 19% (169 votes) didn’t want Rangers to make a move for McKenna.

This is why what folk say in the comments isn’t always backed up by the hard numbers, in fact, it rarely to never is.

Usually comments are filled with ‘the angry loud minority’, and usually the votes will be opposite in sentiment to those comments.

So if the comments say yes, the votes probably say no, and vice versa.

And the majority are absolutely in favour of McKenna. With Robin Propper arriving though, we’re not sure McKenna will follow any time soon.

Need rid of Ben Davies for that…
