Scott Wright may have picked up an injury in Holland if footage from Rangers’ training camp is anything to go by, the winger notably taking a tumble and appearing to complain of a pain in his calf.
The 26-year-old, who is said to be close to a move to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, flew out on Monday with the rest of the squad for the club’s summer training camp in Eindhoven, and appeared to be taking part in all training as normal, before being apparently struck by injury.
Of course, this was the thinking behind our information that Cyriel Dessers was going to give the camp a miss, that he was said to be very close to a Rangers exit and avoiding injury on an intense summer camp might be prudent to avoiding wrecking a sale.
But he (and Wright) went and now it may be that Wright is injured.
Of course, no one really rates the ex-Aberdeen attacker as good enough for Rangers going forward, literally, but an injury at this stage affects his potential sale so would certainly be unwelcome.
We hope he shrugs it off and continues to train healthily with the rest of the squad, but we will admit footage from after his injury did see him continuing to nurse the injury before he vanished from the training ground match with his team mates.
If there is one thing Rangers do not need any more of, it’s injuries.
We hope this was just a minor knock and he’ll be ok.
