It’s very curious that we now know for sure Connor Goldson is an Aris Limassol defender and has left Rangers, but for some odd reason Rangers and the Cypriots have still not announced his exit/arrival.
Goldson completed the move days ago but for reasons as yet unclear neither club has officially confirmed it, and Goldson has been in Austria for the club’s camp against Al-Fayha.
Furthermore despite ITKs claiming the former Brighton stopper was going to start, he wasn’t even in the match squad, which just adds to the mystery.
There’s no question he’s there, and he’s completed the medical and paperwork, so why both clubs are failing to announce it as done and dusted we’re not sure.
Aris did announce a week or so ago that there were a lot of ‘moving parts’ to be sorted before this deal could be finalised, but that was as said while ago and those ‘moving parts’ didn’t stop Goldson himself moving out to mainland Europe for Aris’ Austrian camp.
We know it’s just a matter of time, but we really hope this one gets confirmed soon by both clubs, especially Rangers, and we can finally move on from the guy who thought letting a cross through in May 2022 was a better idea than clearing the ball.
As you can probably tell, Ibrox Noise, for one group, will not miss an inch of Connor Goldson.
