Connor Goldson IS working on signing for Aris Limassol after completing a medical in Cyprus, despite his returning to the UK and boarding Rangers’ flight for Birmingham, but there’s a catch.
The English defender did after all travel to Cyprus, and he did complete a medical – but it has turned into a more complicated deal that initially seemed. An Aris spokesman confirmed the transfer:
“We are close to a new signing. Things are not so easy as it involves several moving parts. We are doing our best to conclude a deal. We will not divulge any names.”
It’s Goldson.
Rangers fans, Ibrox Noise included, were mislead by the photo of his being at Glasgow Airport with his team mates for the flight to St Andrews, concluding that the initial evidence of his clear work in travelling to Cyprus for a medical was nonsense.
Seeing is believing, right?
But no, it’s a very real transfer, he did travel, he did do a medical and he did pass it, but it’s not a simple transaction and could take some negotiation on both sides to get it sorted.
But yes, despite ‘that’ photo, Goldson to Aris is very much on, and time will tell if and when it is completed.
