The new season isn’t even underway yet and TikTok Todd Cantwell is already back attacking fans who have had the temerity to tell him to focus on playing for Rangers, labelling them as ‘weapons’ and ‘bellends’.

It’s right back to last preseason, where his ego clearly had taken off something rotten and his performances seemed to have vanished, and we barely saw hide nor hair of the impressive stuff we got in early 2023.

And now he’s reminding us of everything we dislike about him again, of all his nonsense off the pitch, getting into social media spats where he’d be better served keeping his head down.

Compared with new signing Connor Barron’s publicly-stated disinterest in social media where he announces that stuff ‘isn’t my job’ and the lack of maturity on Cantwell’s part is painful.

He doesn’t have the personality to succeed at Rangers, too busy with self-promotion and trying to get likes for digs at fans.

Funnily enough, exactly the same as ex-manager Michael Beale, the man who brought him to Ibrox, in a long-forgotten spat when he was Steven Gerrard’s assistant and made a sh*tty dig at a fan who hadn’t even tagged him.

This kind of stuff is not welcome at Rangers, a frustrating distraction and players like Cantwell will always be too immature to rise above it.

Was the fan right? Yes, he was. Cantwell has ended up a fail at Rangers, a bad one, and his ego claims the best is to come?

We have a hard time believing that.
