An Ibrox Noise Statement about Rangers ‘division’

Ibrox Noise had a collective eyebrow raise earlier today when our site, a Rangers site, was accused of trying to divide fans with negative news.

One punter made the claim today, to support from a few others, and we decided that yes, our output has been a lot more ‘negative’ in the past few weeks, even months, than we would want it to be.

So we hold our hands up that the content has been mostly negative. We apologise that it’s had to be a bit grim.

Which is a sad thing because it’s the last thing we want to be doing – we are Rangers fans and we want the best thing for our team, to win – and under this manager, for the early part of his tenure, we were doing so. We won a league cup for goodness’ sake.

But the fractures also were there to see, the 3-3, the 0-2 at Parkhead, the abysmal home leg v Benfica. Ross County…

Sadly those victory wheels fell of a long time ago, and since March everything about our club has been a complete shambles – and it would be complete dishonesty for a Rangers community site like ours to pull the wool over eyes and suggest all was fine.

Other Rangers sites and outlets have their own ways of doing things – the bulk of the best known ones tend to keep opinions out of things and try to remain positive where they can. No problem with that, it’s their prerogative to present their information the way they want to.

For Ibrox Noise, we just don’t want to be positive when we don’t feel there’s much to be uplifted about.

And so the Rangers content we put out is just us being honest.

We already know Rangers fans are a bit divided right now, few could deny how toxic last season ended up being.

We don’t want to be toxic – our criticism we hope is merited, but is also constructive – it is not a stupid picture of John Bennett with a cross against him, like we’re seeing on X.

That doesn’t help anyone, but of course those fans are entitled to their opinions too.

But the last thing we are trying to do is divide our audience – it’s better for us if everyone replies agreeing and being happy because we’re winning. The vibes are much better if all is happy happy positive.

But if the team plays terrible, we sign rubbish, and the manager talks absolute piffle, (all in our opinion of course) we will say so.

If that is dividing the fans, we guess we’re guilty as charged!
