Rangers fans have today been voting on apparently-departing striker Cyriel Dessers, and whether or not they wish to see the Nigerian hitman moving on from Govan, with all the rampant speculation about his future hitting fever pitch.
The 29-year-old former Feyenoord striker is one who never really won fans over, but after Ibrox Noise began reporting his likely exit predictably an outcry began over selling him, with a number of fans protesting it loudly.
So we put it to the vote, to make absolutely sure the majority of fans actually do want to see Dessers move on.
And we can confirm they do.
In our Ibrox Noise poll of 1,200 votes and counting, the numbers are unequivocal – just 25% of fans would keep Dessers at Ibrox, while a whopping 75% of those polled are happy to sell him.
The sample number will increase over the next hours and days but we doubt the results will change much, and Dessers, who absolutely doesn’t feel the love at Rangers, will head off to a new club if a deal can be struck.
It’s still said to be Greek side PAOK as the front runners, the champions looking to cement their position with signings like Dessers, but while our information was Rangers had accepted multiple bids for the striker, it still requires a lot of work and his final decision first.
What’s for sure though, is the bulk of Rangers fans won’t miss him.
Shame really, he just wanted to be liked, and his goal numbers were notably impressive.
Just, it seems, not impressive enough.
