Rangers have been hit by yet another injury blow after Ridvan Yilmaz broke down following Hearts and is at best a massive, massive doubt for Saturday, leaving Rangers without potentially either left back fit and doubts too over Dujon Sterling given his fitness levels.

The staggering problems under this manager continue to grow, and it’s safe to say Rangers’ injury crisis is a lot worse now than it was when he took over, with approaching 20 players either unfit or downright injured, limiting Clement’s options for Hampden completely.

He said:

“At the end of the (Hearts) game you get two goals against with a player (Yilmaz) who comes in but hurts himself again during that moment. He came in my office the next day with tears in his eyes to tell me he felt something again so we will see if we can get him fit for this cup final.”

So it’s not a good sign at all, and Yilmaz almost certainly will not be at Clement’s disposal this weekend, with fellow Rangers defender and position rival Barisic’s status very unclear at best.

As for Dujon Sterling, he hasn’t played a full 90 for Rangers for some time, and his fitness is very much debatable, so it’s something of a Ibrox crisis at left back to say the least.

The only defenders Rangers seem to have are James Tavernier, Leon King, Ben Davies and Johnly Yfeko, which may well be the combination Clement has to go with against Celtic – and in being honest, it will be torn to ribbons for sure.

All we can hope is one or two bodies managed to get enough fitness in the past few days to help that rearguard because losing Ridvan (yet again) hasn’t helped anything one bit.

Left back (and the rest of the squad) really is a mare.
