Rangers forward Fabio Silva is now reportedly a target for AC Milan, which shows just how far the Rossoneri giants of Italy have plummeted that they want this Wolves reject.
Mind you, that club have been signing, like Rangers, other clubs’ cast-offs for a very long time so this isn’t that shocking, but to be interested in Ibrox failure Silva, who has been literally abysmal in 4+ months bar two slightly better performances, shows where they are right now.
One thing is for sure – he 100% isn’t staying at Rangers, because not only have Rangers rejected the notion of keeping him (although why Clement keeps playing him we don’t know) but Silva himself doesn’t like Rangers or our fans and rejected any idea of staying beyond the summer.
In the early days the boy was happy enough to come to a huge club like Rangers, given his past experience of a goliath like Porto, but like Porto and Wolves, it didn’t work out at Rangers at all and he’s been wanting to leave for some time.
But Wolves didn’t want him back, so it wasn’t like he could be recalled by them – he’s had to stick it out, and wait for a move he wants.
That’s come through in so many performances, despite the fact he’s in Wolves’ shop window – his eagerness to leave, his unhappiness being at Rangers, and the gesture at the fans over their digs soured things somewhat further and the relationship will end this summer.
He’s been a poor, poor addition, and we can thank the lucky stars Philippe Clement’s bad judgement didn’t cost us much money here because this manager wanted to sign Silva permanently, but he was ‘too expensive’.
Mind you, Diomande’s not been great either, has he.
So Silva will leave, but without much affection towards Rangers. It’s one that didn’t work out, for a lot of reasons – arrogance and disinterest being two.
Sooner he’s out of our hair the better.
