Premier League sides Brentford and Chelsea are among those interested in a big-money summer move for Dujon Sterling, Ibrox Noise has learned.

The Bees, have had a slightly more difficult season in England’s top flight finishing 5th bottom, and sources tell us they and others seek to add Sterling’s power and pace into their midfield having been impressed by his displays in that position earlier in the season.

Manager Thomas Frank, who himself is linked with various positions in the Premier League, is understood to be an admirer.

Sterling, whose rise to prominence has come this season, is well-rated down south, with aforementioned Chelsea well aware of him too, having of course reared him through their youth system, before letting him go on loan for various spells where he didn’t really impress.

His surplus return to Stamford Bridge let Michael Beale’s Rangers in for a cut-price fee and he’s gone from strength to strength under Philippe Clement, albeit it’s widely-known the player is wasted in most of the positions the Belgian has been playing him in.

It’s that wasted potential that is letting sides down south get close to him.

Sterling is happy at Rangers, with no desire to leave, but he does favour being played in his preferred position of midfield, and hopes next season to find himself there under Clement.

Sterling is a firm-fan favourite, and supporters would be far from happy to see probably the most popular outfield player leave, regardless of price, and the hope is that the manager has assured him of a much stronger role in midfield next season.

If not, Chelsea, Brentford and other clubs are ready.
