Well that’s it, the worst Rangers season against Celtic since the Warburton and Pedro days – we managed a single point, a ‘moral victory’ remember, at Ibrox, but aside this it was three abysmal losses – one under Beale, two under Clement.

We have the cup final coming, but it’s pretty clear now that Rangers won’t win it – our manager is out of his depth, and the players are miles below the quality needed.

But the bit that worries us is the repeated mantras from so many Rangers fans of ‘judge him on his own team’ when he’s the guy behind Fabio Silva, the underwhelming Mohamed Diomande, and Oscar Cortes’ ridiculous injury.

So if we give him the £25M he’s said to be getting, are we getting a bunch of Silvas in the summer? A guy who dives in front of open goals when scoring is easier? At least Alfie just missed the open goal, this guy falls to the floor.

Bear in mind, Clement spent £45M at Monaco last summer, building ‘his own players’, and where did he finish with that? 6th. Outside of the European places and he was fired for it. They’re second now under Adu Hutter and certain to secure UCL place.

Clement has shown over and over again, just like Michael Beale, that the pressure at Rangers (as it ended up being at Monaco) is too much for him. He can’t make the right decisions when it truly counts, and he can’t beat Celtic.

All Rangers managers are measured on beating Celtic – it’s the Walter benchmark, the Grand Master himself knew how to get the measure of the east end lot, and that’s one of the many reasons we loved him so much.

Alex McLeish managed a few as well, Wee Dick as well – even Stevie managed one inside his first season with the rancid p*sh left over from Pedro.

Clement is nowhere near it and we’re to blame the players?

We do blame the players significantly, in fairness we’ve been battering Tav, Goldson, Barisic, Lundstram, Raskin, Silva you name it all season.

But to omit the manager from all this, to say he’s done nothing wrong then keep blaming the mess he inherited and keeps putting on the park is just short sighted, and ignorant, unfortunately.

He’s been in charge for 6 months, and while that first 26 or so matches gave us hope, and a cup, he’s done nothing Michael Beale didn’t. Same league record over those early games, but up against a much more rubbish manager ‘over there’.

So of course he pulled the deficit back, Celtic were dropping more points than they did under the Greek guy. That’s basic maths.

He also didn’t have to beat that lot to win the cup in question.

Clement cannot beat ‘them’. He can’t even match them overall.

And Brenda is their manager ‘ffs’.

Can’t say we’re filled with optimism, and on what grounds would we be?

We’ll leave that one with you.
