Michael Beale really, really did a number on Rangers.

With Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers, Jose Cifuentes and Danilo frankly emerging as mediocre to abysmal signings, the man shelled out his entire summer budget of £18M (yes, really) on four players, not a single one of whom has returned value for money.

Ibrox Noise takes you thought the summer shambles and illustrates that only two signings this summer have actually worked out.

We know that Butland and Balogun are class acts, so we will leave them alone, but the rest have been extraordinarily poor, and cost Rangers almost £20M.

Dujon Sterling was around £500,000 from Chelsea, and has not come close to a slot. Ibrox Noise sources tell us he seeks an exit this January but he’d seek an exit if he was Cafu. No one supplants James Tavernier at this club, no one.

Kieran Dowell will also leave – he was a free signing, so no money shelled here, but clearly a subpar player not even good enough for Rangers squad. We still don’t know why Beale brought him in.

Jose Cifuentes came with a big reputation and a big market value, but he’s not justified it. We do like him and think he has talent and power, but he is in the wrong team and we clearly don’t suit each other. We can’t see him sticking it out but stranger things have happened. £1.5M or so which didn’t work well.

Sam Lammers was a fail from before the start. His CV said it all. And we shelled out £3M for him. Enough said.

Abdallah Sima has also reverted to PSV Sima, the one with the rotten first half but freak worldie. That run of games with goals is a distant memory and he adds very little on the left now – he makes dribbles with his pace, but can’t put in a quality product at the end. That’s exactly what he used to be like.

Cyriel Dessers, ah poor Cyriel. Just wanted to succeed but the £6M on him hasn’t worked, has it. CV was average to good, nothing breath-taking but he’s utterly struggled to impact matches aside that same freak PSV leg which got Sima’s worldie. Not a good use of such money.

And lastly, Danilo falls into the Sima camp. Threatened to look good with a few matches of goals, but his limitations have been exposed recently and he has no power, no pace, and can’t make things happen. He does have good movement but that’s fairly useless against a low block. £6M hasn’t really clicked here either has it?

Where are Scotty, Alfie and Tony when you need them…
