So with just two hours till KO (making the relevancy of this piece rather short-lived) what team do we believe Philippe Clement will start with?

Well, some of it picks itself but a lot doesn’t, and with Todd Cantwell and Scott Wright both available that adds some new dimensions to this.

In goal Butland, obviously.

Back four is Tavernier, Goldson, and Barisic. We just can’t quite guess who Clement will choose to partner Goldson between Davies and Balogun. Souttar has no chance. Given how all combinations seem to get slaughtered (what’s the common denominator we wonder) against this team we are going to go with a bit of a lucky dip and say Davies will keep his place.

Midfield…

Cifu is out so it’s already clear that Sterling will start next to Lundstram.

Attacking midfield…

Sima, Cantwell and either McAusland or Matondo.

Up top Dessers now has a bit of grace with fans after his big night in Spain.

So Ibrox Noise’s predicted XI;

Butland; Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic; Lundstram, Sterling; Sima, Cantwell, McAusland; Dessers.

Basically the same team that started v Betis aside Cifu and Lammers, and Davies keeping his place because of how badly Goldson and Balogun paired last time v Dons.

Goldson plays, no matter what, so we as usual have to work around that, and with Davies being ‘in form’ (had a decent match v Betis) we think he’ll get the nod.

It’s set for a lively afternoon.
