As most Rangers fans are already beginning to accept, Michael Beale is a dead man walking and the wrong chap to manage Rangers; but just how many failures has he been responsible for?

Ibrox Noise takes a look at all of the high-scale dumpster fires this boss has presided over and looks at the big picture of why we need someone else pronto or this season will be in ‘bust’ territory before long, if it isn’t already.

He stole defeat from the jaws of victory, sending James Sands on in a match we were comfortable in. His subs hijacked a certain win and in part cost us the league title. It was a taste of what was to come under Michael Beale.

The goal conceded to Miovski following the Kennedy assist has to go down as some of the worst Rangers defending seen in the modern era. It summed up this manager, who’s given no serious consideration to defending. Oh Walter, our dear late soul, we miss you.

Picked Lunny and Tilmann who both weren’t fit. Gaffer expressed total bewilderment that the same team from the new year game didn’t do as well. Go figure…

Gifted them 3 goals, only a double from the enigma that is Tavernier kept us in it and that is not (supposed) to be his job.

Looked completely off it – it’s not more complicated than that. We deservedly lost.

13 May ‘23 Rangers 3-0 Celtic (League)

Celtic played a weakened team, struggle to even call it a big game as there was nothing to play for – sure, the visitors wanted the win, but they were already champions and their guts weren’t the same as it would be for a meaningful match – see today. Obviously not a fail but not to be used as a barometer of success.

And now this latest massive debacle, a loss to a weak Celtic again.

And this doesn’t include the shambles v PSV, or the deeply unconvincing win over Servette.

Beale just doesn’t have what it takes to be Rangers boss.

While Giovanni van Bronckhorst had his moments (no one will forget the Parkhead shambles) he got us to Sevilla, beat Celtic when it mattered and won us a cup. He just wasn’t backed, by either fans or the board. He clearly was a much better manager than Beale. He won 6 trophies in barely 5 years – 5 at Feyenoord, one at Ibrox.

Had he been supported properly who knows what he could have done – in the end we accepted his ‘time was up’ because that former Rangers board just didn’t like him. We didn’t see the whole board being replaced end of the season!

But Beale? He got all the support and he’s absolutely squandered it on Danilo.

Simple as that.

  1. If we all accept this it will be another sad and lonely season watching that lot coast to the league and wallow in CL cash laughing just as they did today at our Ibrox. Gio was treated disgracefully by the Park board sacrificed to appease and sell season books . Beale is a dud a slavering con merchant with no experience or winning record at this level. He must go now. Replace him with McInnes and with McCann .

  2. We need to build from the top starting with Souness as DOF who loves this club & knows it inside out & will have that added loyalty . I agree with BlllB get McInnes & McCann in afterwards .
