Two well-respected Rangers sources have gone head-to-head in a massive ‘credibility’ battle over transfer speculation regarding Leicester City’s Harry Souttar.
Earlier 4lads spoke to Rangers Review and stated factually any interest in him was a ‘non-starter’ and that he had been told by club officials it’s fiction.
However, The Fourth Official has directly contradicted that this evening, acknowledging what 4lads said, but stating they believed this information is wrong and that they have two tight sources who have told them the opposite, that the interest is ‘very real’ and the signing of Harry Souttar could be imminent.
This is a very interesting state of affairs.
We are well aware of the number of times 4lads have got transfer/contract exclusives wrong, such as David Bates and Aaron Ramsey – but they’ve been viewed by some as the Rangers ‘Fabrizio Romano’.
In reality, the best Rangers source for information of the publicly-available accounts is probably Heart & Hand who we don’t think we’ve ever seen wrong even once.
But nevertheless, TFO’s declaration gently contradicts 4lads, and both of these respected sources are effectively ‘up against each other’ over this.
We obviously hope TFO are correct – we’d love to see Harry Souttar at Ibrox – he’s a top defender, and TFO even go as far as to say the player is excited by the prospect of teaming up with his brother at Rangers.
So if it does happen, it’s a big coup and a big exclusive for TFO and they will feel thoroughly vindicated.
If it doesn’t, it’s the other way around we suppose.
End of the day, TFO’s post is a major statement against 4lads – they’ll hope for their sake they’re absolutely bang on.
