“They’re out” – Gio gives damning verdict on Rangers’ Goldson and Jack

Gio van Bronckhorst has strongly suggested both Connor Goldson and Ryan Jack are out for extended periods after admitting their injuries ‘weren’t good’.

Speaking after Rangers’ humiliating 1-7 loss at the hands of Liverpool, Gio once again peddled the ‘lack of competitiveness’ at this level, and while happy with the initial period, took it on the chin at how bad Rangers were after the turnaround.

But he revealed scans will be needed for both Jack and Goldson and conjecture would hint we have lost both till next year.

He said:

“Their injuries weren’t good because they couldn’t continue. For Connor, he pulled something in his muscle so we have to wait and see exactly what the injury is. I think he will be out and the same for Ryan so we have to wait till tomorrow and assess their injuries and how long it’s going to be when they’re back.”

So not good news, and if Rangers’ luck in recent weeks is anything to go by, both are likely to be out till next year, given the world cup starts in literally just over 5 weeks.

Not a good night for Rangers at all, and aside Scotty’s goal, not a single positive to take.

  1. We were actually slightly better than Liverpool 1st half but an unbelievable collapse in the 2nd half.

Ibrox Noise doesn’t rate Goldson as you’ve made plain before but maybe you’ll understand why he always plays and has always played since he first arrived at the club. It’s Goldson and A.N. Other as the centre backs. Goldson going off injured was the turning point in the match.

Are Liverpool better than say Dortmund or Leipzig? I honestly dont think so and for the 1st half of this match it felt like last season again when we were going toe to toe with champions league quality sides.

I’m gutted as are all Rangers fans tonight but this side has built up reserves of goodwill after last season run to the Europa League final. Clubs from small countries NEVER reach European finals. Rangers excepted.

Gio must stay. And we must get Goldson back fit and appreciate what an absolute rock he’s been for the 4 years he’s been at the club. He’s never been injured until now.

    • not just ibrox noise wanted Goldson dropped (not injured), a lot of us do. but this was before the club let go the other 2 big CB’s we had in Balogun and Katic.
