So now that we’ve gotten a whole bunch of venting out of our collective spleens after Tuesday’s shambles, it’s time to look properly forward.

Can Rangers turn this around?

Yes, yes they can.

See, there’s one stat about Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers that has been overlooked, and in fact goes back to his outstanding spell with Feyenoord as well.

It’s a shocking stat, an abysmal stat, and worth noting on so many levels:

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has won just ONE away 90 minutes in European football as a football manager – and it was 2-4 at Dortmund last season.

Every other result has been a loss, aside Zorya Lugansk (1-1) with his ex-side, and of course dead rubber Lyon (1-1) with us.

In short, Gio has a diabolical career away record in Europe:

Played 13, L11.

It’s horrendous.

But there’s a catch. His home record is far far better – 2 of 3 won with Feyenoord in UEL, 1 of 3 won in the UCL group stage. And of course 5 won at Ibrox.

So what we’re saying is statistically, Gio is horrendous on his travels in either UEL or UCL, but at home it’s quite different.

So Rangers have EVERY chance of turning this round next week, because GVB has won more at UCL level as a manager than Steven Gerrard is likely to any time soon.

In fact, the loss on Tuesday was completely normal, for Gio, and anything other than a loss would have, in hindsight, been a surprise.

So a full pelt Ibrox cheering the side on?

Yes, we can turn it around.
