Kamara sale could see shock return of Rangers midfielder
BLACKPOOL, ENGLAND - JULY 16: Glen Kamara of Rangers makes an attacking run during the Pre-Season Friendly match between Blackpool and Rangers at Bloomfield Road on July 16, 2022 in Blackpool, England.

The Billy Gilmour rumour is back, with the latest claims being made that the former Rangers youth player is gearing up for a loan with option to buy after it became clear he is not in Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel’s plans going forward.

The 20-year old midfielder had a terrible time at Norwich, and was roundly abused by home supporters (football fans are really horrible at times aren’t they) which stopped his family attending matches after a while.

He is clearly looking for a fresh start and returning where he should be could well be an option for him.

We noted a very shrewd observation, which was a counter to the ‘he left for money’ argument – the man charged with explaining why his career was better off at Rangers was not only not giving kids any pathway, but was the worst manager Rangers have arguably had in the best part of 30 years – Pedro Caixinha.

In other words, the ‘authority’ to trust was a crazy Portuguese who didn’t have a clue – we’re not sure we’d have stayed either.

Further to this story, Gilmour is being earmarked as a direct replacement for Glen Kamara who is said to be leaving this window if/when a suitable offer arrives.

Looking disinterested for some considerable time, the Fin’s performances have not impressed the majority of fans this preseason and he’s admitted himself he’s looking further afield.

Gio has confirmed there are unlikely to be further incomings unless anyone else leaves – well, Kamara’s exit would pave the way conveniently for Gilmour.

We’ll see if this story has any legs over the coming weeks.

  1. If it could happen it could be one of the key moments in this Transfer window for the Famous. Billy will walk into that team, that arena with ease and put himself back in the game. He will also be a superb asset 56 and for Europe. I hope it happens soon.

  2. Sad to say, Kamara isn’t going anywhere, same as that lump of wood Goldson, we will be stuck with these players because the simple fact is, not a single club out there wanted either of them

I wish some of our fans would pipe down, fed up hearing he will go for £20M, it’s embarrassing every single day on twitter, and the bheggars from the east just laugh at us because of it
