We would love to know what on earth inspired the Martin Boyle rumours. Ibrox Noise did a straw poll of interest in Barrie McKay and 98% of all replies were disgusted by this one and felt he’s well below standard.
And his stats are EQUAL if not better to Boyle’s.
So why the Aussie is being touted for a move to Rangers is completely beyond us.
His SPL stats are mediocre – 32 goals and 28 assists in 147 for Hibs and Dundee is absolutely, 100% NOT the level we should be aspiring to, and his record in the Middle East is hardly worth shouting about either. 4 goals and 2 assists in 18 out there.
The guy is not horrendous, but if ever ‘average but slightly overrated SPL player’ was epitomised by one man, it’s Boyle.
He raised Hibs’ level when he played, yes, but Hibs are, well, rubbish.
Why some Rangers fans and media outlets have been touting this guy for the move to Ibrox is a complete mystery.
Are we missing something here? Is it because his Aussie side is going to the world cup?
We know summer is the silly season and all manner of odd links take place – pretty sure the media had Cardiff signing Gareth Bale at one point…
But Boyle?

If he can score roughly 1 in 5 at a Hibs then hes prob be a 1 in 2 for us. And if im not mistaken cant be play that wide right we’re lookin for ?
Im not overly excited by him or anything like that, but he’d be decent addition.
