Rangers have today been linked with a stunning loan move for Wolves’ Patrick Cutrone, the former Milan striker who looked exceptionally promising at the San Siro but has struggled in the Premier League and back in Italy with both Empoli and Fiorentina.

The Italian one-time cap is just 24, and looking for the right club to get his career properly going, and there is most certainly quality there.

Yours truly has a fondness for his former club Milan, and this would be a signing, if Rangers can get the player that plied his trade at the San Siro, that would absolutely be what we need.

Quick, strong, predatory, and really not that different to Morelos in both physique and style, but has lost his way since leaving Italy for Molineux, the former Italy youth cap is one which has a boatload of potential and in the right environment could finally realise it.

Is that Rangers? Is it Ibrox?

We couldn’t tell you, frankly.

We can’t predict whether a struggling striker can reignite his game at the Famous, but if he could it would be a sensational signing and he’d score for fun with this club.

For Wolves just 3 goals in 28 appearances, for Valencia not a goal to his name, the hitman has really struggled since leaving Milan, where as a youth graduate he bagged 27 in 90 for the Rossoneri as a fringe player.

This is a lad with all the potential in the world, but who made the wrong moves after Milan and didn’t fit in with his new clubs.

Whether a fresh start at Ibrox is the right move is in the hands of the Gods, but get the best out of Cutrone and you’ve got a great forward for sure.
