Rangers have been linked with another raid on Besiktas, and another Yilmaz, this time Kartal at the same age as the Famous’ new signing, and no relation to Ridvan either.

The midfielder, with youth caps for Turkey to his name, isn’t quite as illustrious as his former team mate and has a market value of just £1M, but it’s being suggested by a few that this player is being targeted to both enhance Rangers’ midfield options and more pertinently help Ridvan settle in a new country which doesn’t speak his language.

Just like it took Alfredo Morelos, not a word of English, a while to settle in Scotland and adjust to a very different culture (albeit he had had practise of that scenario having switched Colombia for Finland) it could leave our new signing at a bit of a disadvantage, and the club want him to feel comfortable and not isolated.

Whether that means bringing over his namesake we’re not sure, but the other Yilmaz has his own merits having made 9 appearances for Besiktas and is by no means a bad player.

Still the primary reason is for our star signing?

Plus we’d get a decent midfielder out of it too.
