Rangers have officially got Rabbi Matondo over the line and the Wales international puts pen and paper on a four-year deal, with just international clearance standing in the way now.

The 21-year old winger, who set back the Famous around £2M, is a RW by trade and will hopefully fill a problem position which has dogged the club for around a decade, and being just early 20s we hope there is a glut of potential which the management can nurture.

The one big thing being spoken about is Matondo’s pace – he’s quick, VERY, very quick.

But of course, having lighting speed is one thing – doing something with it quite another, and if Rangers can find a way to harness his nimble feet and put consistent end product on top of it, we could have a bargain of a signing.

Matondo also has sights set on a Welsh place for this winter’s world cup, and could well reach the distinction of achieving something arguably the greatest Wales player ever, Ryan Giggs, couldn’t, in representing his country at a major finals.

But that’s all getting ahead of ourselves – first and foremost Rangers finally, at long last have a right winger, and that means Matondo is going to be certain first choice on that side of the pitch, especially with Joe Aribo long gone.

We look forward to him in action.

  1. Let’s hope he can become our Ryan Kent on the right. I’d like to see opposing defences trying to put 2 or 3 players on Kent AND Matondo. That will open the door wide open for creative attacking players like Lawrence, Lowry, Arfield and anyone not yet signed. Be even better if we can get Kent scoring more often.
