GVB has finally confirmed what the world has known for a long time – Niko Katic’s career at Rangers is over and he will be given every opportunity to find a new club.
The Croat may have been badly treated by the Gerrard regime, but unfortunately for the likable defender he’s not a Gio signing, and not one of his players, and the manager has no interest in him despite liking him as a person.
Katic has been instructed to find a new club because Gio would like to see him flourish, but clearly doesn’t feel the lad fits what he wants in a defender.
And in truth, he probably doesn’t.
Gio likes calm ball players who have composure and use their heads – this is sadly something Katic doesn’t do, and he just isn’t the style our manager prefers.
It’s a shame, and it will disappoint many fans who love the Croat, but now it’s official.
So we wish the lad the best and hope he finds the right club to suit how he plays.
He is most definitely one of us.
