Rangers fans get huge Joe Aribo boost as midfielder commits…

Joe Aribo has today confirmed he has no intention of leaving Rangers, in what is set to be a colossal boost for Rangers fans off the back of three confirmed extensions, and one signing.

Scott Arfield, Steven Davis and Connor Goldson have all committed their futures to the club, while new signing John Souttar has finally arrived at Ibrox to begin life as a Ger, but Aribo, 25, is one of those players approaching the last year of his deal and one the club wants to retain.

While there’s no word yet on a new deal, his comments come as clear commitment to the Rangers, with zero overtures about leaving.

He said:

“I don’t know (of any interest). I never knew about anything to be honest, I just focused on football. I’m happy at Rangers, I’ve been happy since I got here and I’ve loved every single minute of it. So I’ve just been focused on here and I just want to stay focused because at the end of the day, I’m a Rangers player and I’m not thinking about leaving because I’m really happy here.”

If ever a statement was unequivocal, this was it. His team mates historically, like Alfredo Morelos and indeed Connor Goldson, were at best vague about their future, or at worst plugging themselves for the move out, but Aribo is having none of it and is happy to stay.

This appears to be a clear signal to Rangers’ board of commitment and loyalty on the part of the big Nigerian, so the way to repay that is to give him a big contract extension and permanently quell any notion of a move away.

That would be a contract all Rangers fans would be delighted with.

  1. Delighted Joe Aribo has committed to Rangers the board must go all out to offer the player a good deal as a gesture of his commitment to our club, great news

  2. Aribo and Hagi will be key players under Gio. I think we may see the best of both of them once they’ve had a full pre season to work with the management team on implementing their ideas for how we will play through them.

  3. Aribo and Hagi and Goldson are the best news for the club com on bring in that other team in Glasgow once all players are fit rangers will rock the party
