Rangers fans emphatically REJECT transfer story

Rangers fans, for the majority, do not want Sunderland’s Ross Stewart, after the media links today claimed Rangers have made the 25-year old a priority signing to ‘potentially’ replace Alfredo Morelos.

The former Ross County hitman’s career resume is far from gleaming, and with a market value barely scraping £500,000 at present, he really isn’t the exciting name fans would want linked to the club in the event of the Colombian moving on, and responses to this story earlier on Ibrox Noise were derisory of the Scotland international joining Gio.

We can’t blame them – he’s a mediocre player who’s amounted to very little in his career – scoring one in two at League One level in England isn’t nothing to crow about, and this isn’t a Joe Aribo who’s in his early 20s and Aston Villa wanted him straight from the top of the same division.

Aribo was a case of brilliant scouting finding a hidden gem, and time has proven that correct, while Stewart is 5 years older and nowhere near the Nigerian’s level.

If he was, at his age, he’d be upper Championship or lower PL.

It’s no wonder fans are disappointed to see this calibre of player ‘credibly’ linked by ‘credible’ sources.

We’re not saying he’s rotten, we’re saying he’s not the standard we need if we’re to keep getting better.

However, as with all analysis on Ibrox Noise, we trust Gio completely, so if he really wants this guy, he can clearly see things we can’t and that’s why he’s manager.

  1. Unless it was scott brown we were signing ..hahaha aye right ! I think it is kinda wrong of us to have a go at this young chap before he is even in the door ,that cannot be right imo .
Also unless the press have spoken to gio personally about his plans ,I very much doubt they know if he is a direct replacement for morelos ? .We have seen plenty of MASSIVE names arive at club and fail ,ramsay most recently .
Was morelos not also an unknown before he came to our fine instutution ? .
    In gio we trust .

  2. This is a paper story..he’s a fair 0layer at the level he 8s at , but pulling on the blue …no don’t think so . Dykes on the other hand would have worked at Ibrox. GVB can do better than him surely , however if Roy Maakay sees something ge could work with ??

  3. I completely agree ,IF rangers want this guy ,gio maakay and former ajax coach must see something and they are far more qaulified than most ,with all respect .We really dont know how a boy is going turn out and I seen reports that he is a NOT a direct replacement for morelos, apparently from club .
I have my concerns with him ,but full support for the boy from me ,and I think IF morelos leaves it will be a big name replacement ,this boy probably work in progress with the top class maakay coaching him .

  4. I can’t see us signing any decent
players as we don’t have the money
I think it will be 2nd and 3rd rate players.
And it doesn’t matter how good some Coaches are if a player is crap
    He will always be crap.

    • No he wasn’t Stuart, you and many others (including our former manager) couldn’t see what he was doing. We could, and penned a few pieces at the time about it.

  5. My Point was ,a great coach can indeed turn a raw player in to a very good player ,he can see things others cannot its been proven before ,too many examples to point out ,so I wont .
