Rangers face competition on Dutch striker Thijs Dallinga after French giants Toulouse came to personal agreement with the hitman with just a fee to be agreed with Excelsior.

Rangers have been linked to Dalligna for a while, but we don’t know of any concrete offers made by Rangers’ board for the 21-year old who’s in hot demand at present, and with a market value in the £4M range, Toulouse seem to have taken the lead in the race.

Of course, they have Ligue 1 to entice him with, while Rangers have Europe, so it comes down to who’s willing to pay the Dutch side’s asking price.

And at the moment, that doesn’t seem to be Rangers.

As for the lad’s stats, excellentsior. 36 in 44 plus 9 assists – this lad is a player, but there is a catch – that was in the Dutch second division.

The question is whether Rangers can raise the stakes of offer to steal a march in the race to secure him.

He would not be the worst addition at all. Not by a long way.
