Tonight’s England performance and result really does highlight our earlier piece on Rangers’ English contingent.

Now not for a second am I outright saying James Tavernier is better than James, Alexander-Arnold or Trippier – but performances and results like these only further question the NT manager and England’s policy in general of ignoring SPL players.

As we saw tonight, a pretty ordinary Hungary destroyed England, and it brings into question a deeply arrogant manager who always goes with his pals, his clique, and even when the chips are down, he brings on Harry Maguire.

When we see Hungary ruining England 0-4, and the general malaise of results under Southgate since the Euros, then we look at our Kenty and Tav in particular running amuck and owning the Europa League, it brings into question England’s refusal to call upon them.

Think about it – Kalvin Philips in a Leeds side who nearly got relegated, Jarrod Bowen given a call up playing for West Ham who failed to get as far as Rangers in the UEL.

Are we hand on heart saying Kent and Tavernier haven’t proven themselves good enough at the highest levels but these two have?

While the SPL is low level and we accept that, the UEL is not – it is easily comparible to the top half of the PL.

Rangers stormed it.

And yet two of our most stellar performers, Kent and Tav, are miles off a team who just got horsed 0-4 by Hungary and brought on Harry Maguire to save the day.

Ok then.
