Today’s shock announcement that Connor Goldson has signed a new four-year deal caught absolutely everyone, including us, off guard.

Our info, like many, was completely wrong, that he was to join Nottingham Forest.

We hold our hands up and admit we were sold a dummy, and we’re the ones who look silly.

Fair enough, we were wrong. It’s a risk when you do what we do, you’ll get some things wrong.

It is a surprise to everyone, no one expected him to stay, including his manager, and from nowhere, Goldson signs till 2026.

Did he have a change of heart?

Well, the most interesting thing is how fans responded to the post we made about how he’d be best remembered – only a fraction had anything nice to say about him, with the majority abusive, aggressive, and calling him a money grabbing this and that and that he was a rotten defender, blaming him for Seville.

His about turn has definitely come as a shock.

Did he not get the offers he wanted?

Why did he wait over a year to sign the deal?

It matters not – all Rangers players get our support, and that includes Goldson.

We’ve removed the other content about his exit, and now we concentrate on the future with him.

He’s going nowhere.
