Rangers appear to have made Turkey’s Berke Özer their number one goalkeeping target after dropping interest in Bosnia’s Vladan Kovačević after a number of scouting expeditions on the Raków man.
The club’s goalkeeping situation is in some flux with uncertainty over Allan McGregor’s future, while doubts persist over either Jon McLaughlin or Robby McCrorie’s suitability for the number one jersey.
And the Bosnian international had been on Rangers’ radar with scouts taking in his recent displays, but now that seems to be done and concentration is focused on two main names:
Özer and Crystal Palace’s Jack Butland.
No offer has as yet been made for the Englishman, but reports in Turkey claim their man has a decision to make, and has been promised first choice at Ibrox if he makes the move.
Özer would be a Bosman, and a fairly good one at that, even if he wasn’t first choice for Fenerbahçe, but then at 22 that’s no real surprise.
But either way it seems like interest in Kovačević is certainly done.
