Long-time Ibrox Noise regular Dave Gibb got in touch with us to remind us something which there’s no question we almost all overlooked.
There’s a group of people, outside of Celtic and the usual domestic haters that will absolutely have abhorred Rangers’ run to the glory of the UEL final.
A side who Rangers mostly lost to fair and square last season, but who sullied their integrity with a disgraceful racism scandal which undermined so much of Glen Kamara’s career for a very long time.
Can you imagine how Ondrej Kudela, Slavia Praha and indeed the majority of the Eastern Bloc who backed him and them up feel seeing this most-loathed side in their recent history go all the way to the final and become the toast of Europe? Not only that, but he scored a MASSIVE and decisive second goal on the night into the bargain…
If ever, EVER there was sweet poetic justice, this was it.
There is every chance we might not win – but we will leave it all out there in the pursuit of doing so.
But just getting to the final will fill them with absolute hatred and loathing, that those awful [insert racist term here] managed to defy all odds and get to the following season’s final.
Let’s also not forget the hatchet job the thugs of Prague did on Ryan Kent – they couldn’t stop him fairly at Ibrox, so resorted to cleverly taking turns at chopping him down, ensuring as few yellow cards were dished out as possible.
But of course, that racism, that abuse, the siding by the whole Eastern Bloc against Rangers and Glen Kamara – imagine how rage-filled they are seeing this.
Justice.
Karma. For Kamara.
At its finest.
