Rangers are to say goodbye to Cedric Itten after a £1.5M deal was agreed by Swiss giants Young Boys to sign the unsettled hitman.

The forward, 25, has had a terrible time of it at Ibrox, and probably wishes he’d never left St Gallen in the first place, but is set to get a big move to a home nation side after Rangers’ former UEL rivals confirmed the deal.

CEO of the Bern giants Christoph Spycher refused to rule out a move for him, and a week later the deal is nearly complete, with the likable striker finally ending his Rangers nightmare.

It’s a good move for him and a good one for Rangers – yes, we do lose about £1M on this, given we signed him for £2.5M, but it’s a cut of losses for a player who just didn’t work out.

And we wish him the best back home in Switzerland.

Held himself well at Ibrox and didn’t let his side down – good luck to you.
