Giovanni van Bronckhorst has failed to rule Kemar Roofe out of tomorrow’s UEL semi second leg with Leipzig, saying only that he doesn’t know if the forward will be ready.

After reports that the Jamaica star was ahead of schedule with his recovery, hopes increased that he would make it for the Leipzig return, and Gio kept his cards close to his chest by admitting only ‘uncertainty’ over the hitman, which is certainly infinitely better news than confirming he’s definitely not available.

Rangers have had to call upon some position swapping and the services of squad players like Scott Wright and Fashion Sakala in recent times, with the likes of Roofe not at GVB’s disposal, but this news gives us a strong hope he will be involved tomorrow, because we sure need his qualities at this level with this importance riding on it.

As things stand, it’s Sakala, Arfield, Kent and Aribo along with Wright providing the attack options, but we’d suggest a fit Roofe would be a certain starter among those.

And now we know that, at very base level, he has definitely NOT been ruled out of this one, that is a good sign that the utility attacker may just make it tomorrow after all.

We certainly hope.
