It’s not really a big surprise that Barcelona are interested in Ryan Kent.

The dynamite winger has been absolutely world class in the Europa League this season, and there’s no question he’s deeply underappreciated by the majority of Rangers fans, many of whom accuse him of not doing enough.

True, his numbers are not incredible this season, we are the first to admit that, but anyone with a football brain would be able to acknowledge the level the lad hits and the number of times he’s destroyed continental giants.

We’ve seen him slaughter Rapid Wien, Dortmund, Leipzig and many, many more – assists, goals, or just pure danger factor of his work rate, pace, and movement, as he caused havoc at defences all over.

And Barca looking at a player who will start the Europa League Final is absolutely zero surprise at all.

Value?

Rangers’ whole squad, thanks to this incredible run, took a major hike.

Forget the league, it didn’t help with player value last summer, European attainment is where it’s at, and players like Kent are being watched worldwide.

So while he has an escape clause reported to be around £20M, a top class winger in the Europa League Final who’s got a track record of decimating Dortmund could go for anything up to £30M.

It all changed when we got to the final.

Can we keep him?

If we win the final, and all being equal we have every chance, Ryan Kent would only leave Rangers for another Champions League team.

We admit Barca would be hard to turn down.

But all in good time. We’ve a final to win first.
